Any complaints from the students, parents or any other interested party should be addressed properly and resolved effectively. The action taken should be intimated to the concerned persons
Types of complaints in School
1. Complaints against students – like bullying, fights, arrogant behavior etc
Examples: Hitting, slapping, pushing, causing unrest etc
2. Complaints against teachers – Causing harm to the child’s emotional well-being through verbal attacks, humiliation, or corporal punishment
3. Complaints against the admin staff – like not attending queries wrong information etc
Procedure to file a complaint
Parents can lodge a complaint through any of the following ways –
● Inform the class teacher through Myelin (checked daily by the concerned teacher)
● Write a mail to the principal (checked daily by the principal) if no action from teacher
● Drop a note in the complaint box which is there at the entrance(checked fortnightly by the office staff and forwarded to the principal)(Responsibility:Teachers/ Staff)
Procedure to be followed after receiving a complaint
● At the class teacher level, if it can be resolved, it is to be done. If not, it is escalated to the supervisor, vice- principal or the principal as per the requirement. It can also be referred to the counsellor
● Principal can investigate the complaint and take necessary action.(Responsibility: Class/ Teachers/ supervisor)
Important –
● The complaint is investigated properly and not taken at face value
● If found correct, appropriate action which needs to be taken is taken
● Information about the action taken is informed to the complainant.
● Regular follow up of the effectiveness of the action is taken.
● Record of the entire process is maintained in the NC register (Responsibility: Class/Teachers/ supervisor)
