Striking A Chord With Students Beyond The Classroom

Vidyanchal High School (VHS) is dedicated to fostering well-rounded students by going beyond traditional academics. Recognizing the value of holistic development, VHS has incorporated a strong focus on music and sports into its curriculum, offering students opportunities to grow creatively and physically. This year, the school has taken steps to deepen students’ engagement with music by organizing workshops, intimate gatherings called “baithaks,” and additional classes for aspiring musicians. These efforts are designed to nurture young talent and provide them with the foundation to pursue music passionately and professionally.

To celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, VHS collaborated with the Taalsadhana Music Circle, Pune, to organize a special Baithak. This event was not only a celebration but also an educational experience, emphasizing the significance of the Guru-Shishya Parampara—the timeless tradition of the teacher-student relationship in Indian culture. It gave students a chance to learn from esteemed artists, witness the dedication required for musical excellence, and even showcase their own talents in a supportive environment.
